We had a 'Blast' on our last day of school! Mr. Ferrell, our son Adam, and his buddy Dan came to school first thing in the morning for a rousing game of wiffle ball! I say it was rousing, but really, many of the kids were playing in the dirt, a few were serious, some were very reluctant, but everyone had fun!
Abby L. is up to bat, Kaitlyn helps catch and Kaydon is the "umpire".
Mr. Ferrell and Rowan discuss what they will do if the ball comes their way while Payton waits on first base for the next hitter to connect.
Easton is on deck while Mr. Ferrell goes back to the pitching mound. Abigail P. is up to bat.
After 2 innings, we decided it would be fun to play on the ball diamond playground for a few moments before going back inside for popsicles.
Mr. Ferrell lifts Abigail onto the spinning ride.
Mr. Ferrell and Adam turn the spinning ride while Kaitlyn, Payton, Izzy and Abigail scream "FASTER!"
Adam honors the request to spin the merry-go-round FAST! Notice Mecciah's feet off the ground? Mrs. Ferrell was a bit nervous watching this!
Can anyone else fit? I don't think so!
The whole crew! Even Miss Kerri came back to visit!
Thank you to Mr. Ferrell, Adam and Dan for coming in to spend time with us. The kids were SO excited to play and visit with you!
Our next big adventure was sponsored by our wonderful PTO! They brought in a company with inflatables for us to enjoy! Each grade level was given a 30 minute time to play... and play... and play!
The line for the fire truck slide was never-ending!
The bouncy ring was crazy fun!
In this 'boat', the kids could shoot baskets!
The obstacle course race was loads of fun. See Lily running to get there?
The object for this inflatable was to knock the floating balls down! Once the kids figured out what to do, it was always crowded!
The entrance to the obstacle course.
After the inflatables, the PTO had ice cream sundaes for everyone! They had many toppings to choose from, and most of the kids (and Mrs. Ferrell) had EVERY topping available! (cookie dough pieces, gummy bears, nerds, M & M's, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, cherries). YUM! YUM!
Finally, it was time for Last Blast! The PTO again outdid themselves! There were many stations to choose from and the kids enjoyed them to the fullest! It was a beautiful day outside and a great way to culminate our first grade year!
Rowan and Payton compete in a sack race.
Paul joins in the sack race too!
Dakota enjoys the bubble station.
Rowan waits in the very crowded tattoo area!
Payton shows me how soaked she got standing by the dunk tank!
Easton and Kaitlyn race.
Mr. Tebo enters the dunk tank! The crowd goes WILD!
(Brady was especially anxious to dunk his dad and was telling me all day long how he was going to dunk his daddy in the dunk tank!)
What a good sport!
Abby and Mari show off their pinwheels they made at the craft table.
Thank you again parents for sharing your wonderful children with me this year! It was an honor to be their teacher and to get to know all of you! Have a wonderful summer, be safe, do a little bit of reading and math fact review (PLEASE!) and most of all... keep in touch! I will miss all of you!
Love, Mrs. Ferrell
