Hamilton Hawkeye Hustle!

Today was the BIG DAY!  The Hamilton Elementary School Fundraiser for our awesome PTO!  We have had this event on our classroom calendar since school began and as this week progressed, became more and more excited!

This event is the only fund raiser asked of the families at Hamilton Elementary School.  The money turned in funds so many events and additional opportunities for every child at our school.   Most of the children in our school will use Raz Kids, a reading program to help children learn to read better in a fun way using technology.  Hamilton Elementary kids also have the opportunity to practice their math skills on technology using IXL.  Both of these programs would not be possible without our generous PTO, who paid the fees for each program for the year!

Does your child love Fun Night?  How about making Christmas gifts for their families in the school gym?  Each grade level teaching team is also given money for the teachers to purchase items for their classrooms that are not covered by the district.  Does your child like field trips?  The PTO helps pay for admission fees and/or transportation costs for the students!

So THANK YOU for helping your child collect donations for our school!  If you have any other donations, please send them in!  The PTO would appreciate any late donations just as much as the donations already received!

Here are a few photos of our day!  Enjoy!

Paige and her Mom made Hawkeye bracelets for every child
in our class! Paige had enough to share one with Mrs. Kraker
and Mrs. Klomparens as well!

Thanks to Mrs. Duncan and Paige for our cool Hawkeye bracelets!

The PTO gave every child a t-shirt to wear for the Hawkeye Hustle!
We can also use the t-shirts for field trips and special days!

We walked, skipped, ran, did cart wheels, the Chicken Dance, and much
more around the track!  We even had a DJ playing cool music for us!

The Hamilton Hawkeye even came for part of our time on the track!

The Hamilton Hawkeye always had a nice crowd of kids around!
It kept the kids moving on this hot day!

Thanks for joining us Hamilton Hawkeye!

After our turn on the track, each child was given a water bottle,
a bag of popcorn and an apple if they wanted them.

Enjoying our treats in the shade!

And of course... "The Funny One"!

Clifford's Birthday

What is BIG and RED and loved by children and adults alike???  Why, it's CLIFFORD, the big red dog of course!  We celebrated our beloved story book character last Friday all day long at school.

Hopefully your child told you all about our day, so I will just post the pictures I took along with captions explaining them.   I did not take pictures of everything we did, but tried to get a good sampling.  Because I was away at a conference this past weekend, I wanted to get this blog posted as soon as I could.

Enjoy!

The 'red star' group making Clifford dogs for our bulletin board.

The 'purple star' group!

Here is the 'green star' group!

The 'blue star' group.

Our cute Clifford dogs drying on the table.

This is our finished product on our wall.

We enjoyed a special cupcake and juice box to celebrate!  Thank you to Mrs. Lugten and Mrs. Berghorst for our treats!

They made paper bag puppets with bones.  The bones had simple sentences on them that they
read and fed to their doggies!

We ended our day watching a Clifford video.  Clifford and his friends teach such
wonderful life lessons to the kids.

When I take photos of the group, I always promise them that they can make faces for a funny one!  Here is their first funny face photo!
