Last Blast!

Well, this is it folks! The final blog post of first grade, 2013-14!  Can you believe how fast the time went? It seems like we just started our year together!  But we are a family now, and as much as we look forward to the end of our time together, it's hard to say good bye!

Our wonderful PTO organizes such a fun event on our final day of school each year. This year, they outdid themselves! The kids had such a great time, and when I asked what their favorite part of Last Blast was, many said, "The whole thing!"

I just want to say how much I enjoyed being your children's teacher this year. We have grown to love and care for each other. I have a place in my heart for every one of them! I have also enjoyed getting to know you parents and appreciate all the support for your children in their school success! Without you, your children would not be nearly as far along as they all are!  So thank you from the bottom of my heart!  Have a wonderful summer! Take care and keep in touch!

Enjoy the MANY photos of our Last Blast Fun!

We began our day at the park just South of our school.  We did sidewalk chalk and bubbles first, playground time and face painting/tattoos second, and hula hoops and parachute last!

Owen, Ryleigh and Bridger give it a try.

Hoola Hoops are fun!

Many tried double or triple hoola hoops!

After the park, we went into the gym for a magic show!  Our own Do'olo was even asked to be a helper!  We were amazed by his tricks!

After the magic show, we got to have an ice cream sundae!  Yum, yum!

Waiting in line for ice cream and toppings!

Everyone was ready for a snack!

Next, the kids went into the sand pit and dug for treasures!  There were pennies and little plastic animals hidden in the sand!

Last, we had a water relay!  The kids had teams working together to transport water from one bucket to another bucket.  The first team to fill the bucket to the top and force a ping pong ball out the top was the 'winner'!  No prizes on the line... just bragging rights!

Who will win the relay?

The green bucket team wins!  After the relay, I gathered up the group for one last class photo!  We ended our day making the 'tunnel' around the track to send off the fourth and fifth grade classes.  This is a Hamilton Elementary tradition and the kids love to participate in it!  Someday, your children will be running through the tunnel too!

And of course...

HAPPY SUMMER EVERYONE!
