After waiting TWO WEEKS due to snow days, Olivia finally has her turn to be the student of the week! Olivia's favorite color is BLUE. She would love to visit her grandma in Oregon someday. Her favorite television show is Sponge Bob. When she grows up, Olivia would like to be a dentist. She is special because her parents love her! She has a pet cat named Bailey and a dog named Duke. Her very favorite book is the Bible. Olivia likes the sport of soccer. Her favorite food is pizza. The very best thing about Olivia is that God loves her!
Tommy earned his second set of certificates today for Xtra Math! He has mastered his subtraction facts within 3 seconds! He will go back to addition now, and to earn a smiley face on the program, he will need to type in the correct response in 2 seconds!
Tommy works very hard at Xtra Math, visiting the website every day at school and at home as well! Did you know that Mrs. Ferrell can see who visits Xtra Math at home? Many children should be doing this as well, because many children in our class are not making the progress that could be made with more practice at home! Kudos to Tommy and his parents for making school an important part of his home life! It makes a huge difference in math fact knowledge as well as other areas of the curriculum when parents take an active interest at home! I will share your child's Xtra Math progress at conferences in March. Hopefully I will see more children visiting this site at home so that we can view the growth on your child's chart on my computer when you come to see me!
