Clifford Day!

What's BIG and red and 56 years old???  It's Clifford, the Big Red Dog!  Today was a special day in first grade.  We celebrated our favorite dog's birthday!  Thank  you for sending your children to school wearing RED to help celebrate our fun day!

Before school even began, Katelynn, along with her mom, Mrs. Nykamp, brought in MANY stuffed Clifford dogs and friends to decorate our room for the day!  It made our room look so festive and fun!

Look at all these adorable stuffed Clifford dogs and friends!  And Katelynn is the cutest!

We began our day by making Clifford paper ear/headbands to wear.  As the kids patiently waited to get their ears stapled onto their bands, some adorable Clifford fun sheets were beautifully colored!  After recess, we enjoyed a special Clifford snack!  Thank you to Mrs. Ledebuhr and Mrs. DeHorn, who provided fun cupcakes and yummy fruit punch (red, of course!)

Napkins provided by Mrs. Nykamp, juice by Mrs. DeHorn, and cupcakes by Mrs. Ledebuhr.
Maya and Madelyn show the yummy treats sent in by their moms!

Although we were not able to spend our entire day doing Clifford activities, one of the more special projects was a cute art project to display in our classrooms!  They look so cheerful and different!

We were also able to watch a Clifford movie today!  That is a real treat, as we don't get to watch very many movies in the classroom!

A fun day was had by everyone!  Every time I take a group photo, I tell the kids that if they smile nicely for a couple of pictures, I will take a 'funny one'.  It seems to work, but the 'funny one' is always so cute, I often end a blog post with it for your enjoyment!
