Our first butterfly friend!

We are so fortunate today!   One of our six butterfly chrysalis' was very dark brown this morning when the children came in to class.  Within 10 minutes, our first butterfly emerged!   We watched the wings start out very wet and crumpled up begin to stretch out and dry.  Not one of the children blew on the butterfly or bumped the net!   They were so excited to have this wonderful opportunity to see it happen.  Abby even said, "This is the first time I ever saw a butterfly come out of it's chrysalis!"   This is one of the many reasons it is so awesome to teach first grade!   The excitement and wonder in their eyes is such a gift!   Thank you for sharing your children with me!
