Exciting Accomplishments!

As you know, we visited the ODC this week.  That blog post will come over the weekend.  This post is all about celebrating three students in our class!

The kids have been practicing their addition facts using Xtra Math 2-3 times per week since September.  The goal is to master ALL of the addition facts from 0+0 to 10+10 (100 facts!).  In order to 'master' each fact, the students must type in the correct answer within 3 seconds THREE consecutive times.  Well... this week we had TWO students master all 100 facts!  They will now move on to subtraction facts.  You can help by having your child visit Xtra Math at home!

Congratulations to Keira and Logan for mastering their addition facts!

The third student accomplishment was for Ki.  Mrs. Klomparens came to our classroom today to share an announcement with our class.  She told us that Ki was being honored as a Heroic Hawkeye.  It seems that Ki has been helping Mrs. Ley's Kindergarten students get into their winter clothing after lunch.  He wanted them to be able to get outside for recess quicker.  Ki chose to do this good deed without being asked or expecting to be noticed.  He simply wanted to help!  Because he WAS noticed, Ki's photo was taken for the showcase at the front entrance of school!  He was also given a special necklace AND a certificate for FREE frozen yogurt from Orange Leaf in Holland!  Congratulations Ki, and thank you for being a Hamilton Heroic Hawkeye!
